Josh Funk does it again in the latest installment of the Lady Pancake and Sir French Toast saga!  A new hero, nemesis-turned-friend Baron von Waffle, takes charge when Pancake and French Toast are accidentally turned into children via a de-spoiling machine (who wants to be moldy and crumbly except cheese?) run by Professor Biscotti. As always, the rhyme is perfect, the food puns are delectable, and the illustrations by Brendan Kearnry are just as energetic, fun, and sweet as the story itself. This addition to to Josh Funk's bibliography is a great one, and it's exciting to have another picture book to add to story time that is a perfect read-aloud and can be enjoyed by readers of all ages. Bravo!

“Josh Funk pours on the adorable once again as he sets his lovable breakfast duo off on another tasty adventure. Lady Pancake and Sir French Toast realize they’re going stale and seek the help of Professor Biscotti to rejuvenate them, but something goes awry. Baron von Waffle and tons of enjoyable puns return, as do illustrator Brendan Kearney’s delectably delightful foodscapes. Limes Square made me giggle with glee. This too-short picture book is certainly sweet enough for the little ones, and well worth the carbs for all readers.”

Description

Lady Pancake and Sir French Toast are back with a twist: they've been transformed into small children. Now it's a race against the clock to turn our favorite duo into grown-ups again

Lady Pancake is aching; Sir French Toast's looking pale. Could they be going . . . STALE? Maybe a visit to Professor Biscotti's lab for her despoiling procedure will help. But instead of beautifying them, Biscotti accidentally transforms the two treats into toddlers Frightened of the now gargantuan (to them) Baron von Waffle, the mini breakfast foods scamper off on an adventure in the fridge, visiting everywhere from the Bran Canyon to Limes Square. Will Baron von Waffle and Professor Biscotti figure out a way to turn them back into a grown Lady and Sir? Or will they stay short & sweet forever?
